Now that you heard all that, let me tell you what I learned. I had no idea that polyester was so awesome and that it was recyclable or that recycling it was this important. The benefits of recycling polyester are huge and now that I know them, it seems only fair to treat my old polyester-made things more carefully. When we throw things in landfills, they just pile up, and we all know most of the waste we produce already goes there. So why not reuse polyester, turn it into new clothes, and keep it from staying in landfills? That’s the only way we can keep our lands clean and unpolluted. And I bet you didn’t know this, but even though some might say that polyester is not exactly Earth’s best friend and that we should all stop using it, that is not 100% accurate. Actually, recycling polyester can be better for the environment that producing or using, for example, something honestly new and purely organic like cotton. People need to see that producing cotton takes more water and chemicals that they might know are harmful to animals or entire ecosystems. And what we are doing, recycling polyester, helps us save all of this. That is, therefore, our favor for nature.
Recycling polyester is very beneficial for our environment. First, it can reduce the amount of trash that ends up in landfills. Landfills can pollute as they reach capacity. Sometimes, they even leak dangerous chemicals into the soil and water around them that can hurt plants, animals and people.
That means we also don’t have to produce as much new fabric when we reuse polyester.” New fabric creation is resource- and energy-intensive. This can have an adverse effect on our surroundings. And by recycling polyester, less energy is needed and less resources need to be used to create new items. Hence, we are taking care of our Mother Earth and also allowing it to stay healthy.
Polyester makes an excellent fabric to recycle, as it is lightweight, is strong and will not stretch easily. These properties make it ideal for a wide variety of applications, and they also mean that polyester can be recycled again and again without losing its quality. This, in turn, helps lead to a cycle that allows for us to be able to keep using and reusing the fabric, which already is a great benefit to the environment.
Bornature is another one of those organizations that focuses on using planet-friendly materials. In order to protect the environment, we focus on using recycled polyester on many of our products to reduce waste. We are dedicated to creating products that are gorgeous and stylish but also environmentally safe!
